| One day a crow (乌鸦) wanted to drink, but he could find no water. He looked here and there. At last he cried, "I see a bottle and there is some water in it." He tried to get the water, but he couldn't. He tried and tried, but he could not get the water. "How shall I get the water?" he cried. "I can put my beak (嘴) quite close to it, but I cannot drink. What shall I do? I want to drink." Then the crow walked away. He looked here and there. He saw a little stone, picked it in his beak and then carried it to the bottle. He put it into the bottle. "Soon the water will be high in the bottle, and I can drink." said the crow. Then he picked up another little stone and put it into the bottle. He picked up other stones and put them into the bottle. "Now at last the water is high enough in the bottle and I can drink it." cried the crow. |
